I
visited the very few health food stores in the San Francisco Bay
area. After all, it was the early 1970's and health food stores were
far and few between. I read books on nutrition and colon health and
found a very alternative medical doctor in Mill Valley. I changed my
diet dramatically and went to the Antioch University Holistic Studies
program in San Francisco.
Since I was an elementary school teacher at that time, I had enough
free time to pursue my developing interest. As I practiced more
cleansing and detoxification techniques, I began to feel my energies
being renewed; my mind became much clearer and my intuition became
much sharper. My spirituality awakened and I felt more and more
connected to universal energies.
I utilized my renewed energy and received a grant from the California
Department of Education to develop a nutrition education training
program for the state's public school system. After working with
teachers, parents and food service personnel for several years, it
became important for me to work with people who were seeking out the
information I had to share rather than working from within the system.
I founded the Inner Beauty Institute in 1979. Since that time, my
goal has been to reach as many people as possible with information
about cleansing, detoxification and rejuvenation. I believed then
and I believe now that it is the missing link in the alternative
health field.
Using techniques adapted from many experts such as Edgar Cayce, Ann
Wigmore, Dr. Norman Walker, Dr. Bernard Jensen, Dr. Randolph Stone and
Magana and Walk Baptiste, I have been developing individualized
wellness programs for literally thousands of clients over the last 25
years and have written several books over the years based on my
experiences and knowledge.
My clinical work has been very "hands on" and intimate, and I have
discovered that my gifts include being able to "hear" and feel the
emotional and spiritual issues that may be underlying a particular
physical challenge. It has taken me a number of years to trust my
intuitive guidance; this, in fact, has been a great "growing edge"
for me. I now know that the intuitive healing work is a big piece of
what I am here to do.
We've come a long way since the 1970's, but there's still a long way
to go. I hope that my work will reach those people who suffer
needlessly from constipation and indigestion, those who take
antibiotics to control skin problems, those who diet endlessly without
understanding how their bodies really work, those who forget to
breathe deeply to bring oxygen into their organs and to release
stress, those who haven't realized just yet that they don't have to
age and deteriorate so quickly, those who haven't yet been able to
clear past emotions and feelings from their cellular bodies even with
years of therapy, and those who haven't learned that they CAN take
control of their health and well being at every level.
As we evolve, so will the medical profession, and I intend that my
books and my work in general will contribute to expanding public
awareness.
