Gentle
Yoga has been developed over my almost 30 year practice of hatha yoga. It is
appropriate for beginners as well as anyone wishing an emphasis on slow and easy
stretching, deep breathing and deep relaxation.
You are encouraged to work at your own level of ability and are not under any
pressure to perform pretzel poses. There is absolutely no emphasis on doing it
perfectly, but regular practice will truly develop greater flexibility, core
strength, muscle tone and mental clarity for people of all ages as well as an
ability to relax in the midst of stress.
Gentle Yoga is truly unique amongst yoga practices as it combines basic
hatha postures with full torso breathing process with easy isometrics. It
enhances and deepens the oxygenation process which, in turn, increases
metabolism. Immediate results include easy weight loss as well as the toning and
tightening of the abs and buttocks. Long term benefits include increased
internal organ health and a reduction in tendencies toward premature aging and
chronic disease.

Throughout this 1-1/2 hour private session, I will guide you through a totally personalized yoga session based on your physical and emotional symptoms. You will learn how to be your own healer by bringing breath into any part of your body needing healing and how to let go in the midst of stress. (My fee will go down substantially should you decide to work regularly with me.) |

THE BAPTISTE METHOD
I am honored to have been a
student of the Baptiste Method since 1976 and have been certified to teach their
invaluable techniques designed to strengthen and purify your body and mind, to
increase and balance your energy, and to connect you with the vision of your
soul.
Magana and Walt Baptiste of San Francisco were health and fitness pioneers and
established the first yoga center in San Francisco in the mid-1950s. Walt
Baptiste was a Master of Raja Yoga, which is inclusive of all the Yogas. He is
one of the few Western Masters to become adept in advanced yogic disciplines and
was given the sacred title of Yogiraj by Swami Sivananda. He was a former Mr.
America and an international authority of Physical Fitness, Yoga and Human
Potential. In 1934 he established the first physical culture center of its kind
combining the disciplines of yoga, weight training, meditation and the science
of breath. His teachings included a sound nutritional program including
purification diets to establish the highest levels of health and vitality.
Magana was the first runner up in the 1951 Miss USA contest. She is the founder
and director of the Baptiste International School of Dance.
Magana and Walt helped to popularize yoga into what it has become today. Their
Baptiste Health and Fitness Center was the most complete center of its kind
including a natural foods store, a health food restaurant, a comprehensive dance
studio, gym and yoga room.
